In today’s edition, we will look at Six (6) Ghanaian musicians in America.
There are musicians because they were born in the United States are regarded American musicians. But possibly have an a Ghanaian descent that we had no idea of and in this write up we will show you a number of them.
Some of these musicians are from a mixed background with either a parent or both parents from Ghana and that makes them have the Ghanaian blood as well.

A number of them since they were born outside haven’t found time to come down and have a feel of how Ghana looks like but there are others who have visited and even hangouts with high-profile persons in Ghana.
The amazing part is that Ghanaians living home become very excited for these stars hearing them make waves in the industry which they find themselves and are gaining recognitions for their hard work.
Again, there are some who have worked on big projects and winning some ultimate international Awards and as well hearing this makes us feel proud of them due to the fact that their some how raising the name of Ghana high through their music.
Below is a list of Ghanaian musicians in America/American musicians with a Ghanaian descent. There might be a tall list of them, but we bring you just six (6) Ghanaian musicians in America;
1. Vic Mensa
Victor Kwesi Mensah better known as Vic Mensa is a renowned American rapper, singer and an activist. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States and currently based in the states. He is of a Ghanaian descent as his father is from Ghana and his mother, a white American.
He is into hip hop and punk rap as a music genre and have paid a visit to Ghana and had collaborations with popular Ghanaian artistes like Kwesi Arthur, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and among others.
2. V.I.C.
Victor Grimmy Owusu known by the stage name V.I.C. is an American rapper who was born in Corona, Queens, the United States.
He is also of a Ghanaian descent as his dad is a Ghanaian and his mother is from the states.
3. Amaarae
Ama Serwaa Genfi known by the stage name Amaarae, is a Ghanaian American singer, a producer and sound engineer. She was born the United States and currently one of the Ghanaian musicians based overseas.
She has both parents to be Ghanaians, and she’s into music genres like R & B, Afro-fusion and soul.
4. Yarzarah
Yarzarah known in real life as Dana Nicole Amma Williams is a Ghanaian American singer, songwriter and music producer. She was born to a Ghanaian father and currently lives in the United States.
She makes music genres like soul music, R & B, Rock and others.
5. Moses Sumney
Moses Sumney is a Ghanaian American Singer, instrumentalist and a song writer who was born in the United States and has been in the music Industry since 2014.
He also makes Alternative/Indie and Folk music genres.
6. Lil Tjay
Tione Jayden Merritt is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He derived his stage name from his real name, and he also has a Ghanaian descent.
Tjay was born in Bronx, New York, the United States to a Ghanaian mother and makes trap, drill and hip hop music.
