According to multiple reports, Def Jam Recordings wants to sign Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste, Living Stone Etse Satekla widely known as Stonebwoy.
The handle of the African branch of the record label tweeted a photo of Stonebwoy with the caption “Africa, we’ve got news for you.” It also has the Dem Jam logo embossed on it. Stonebwoy then retweeted with the comment “Let’s Go”.
It is not clear what type of deal Stonebowy will be having with the label giants, but their tweets suggest, there is definitely going to be a deal between the two.
Def Jam Recordings is an American record label based in Manhattan, New York City, owned by the Universal Music Group.
The label has a London-based, UK arm known as 0207 Def Jam (formerly Def Jam UK from the 1990s until the mid-2000s) and is currently operated through EMI Records.

Current artists signed to the label include Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Toya Johnson, Nasty C, 2 Chainz, Dave East, Jeezy, Jeremih, Jhené Aiko, and YK Osiris, among others.
Stonebwoy who started his music career under Samini’s Highgrade Music now runs his own label called Burniton Music Group. In 2017, he got signed on to Zylofon Music and baled out about three years.
