The Ghana Armed Forces 2022 Recruitment/Enlistment processed commenced on 16th May 2022 to recruit Ghanaian interested persons. The online portal has been activated for interested applicants to apply online.

The Ghana Armed Forces comprises of three units (the Ghana Army, Ghana Navy and Ghana Air force). Therefore, interested applicants who wishes to apply for all of this services will have to purchase three (3) different scratch cards.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has commenced the 2022 Enlistment process for the Regular Career Course and Short Service Commission Officers. Below is the necessary information needed to complete your online application.

General Eligibility of the Ghana Armed Forces Official Recruitment 2022/2023

Eligible applicants should:

  1. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
  2. Be of good character.
  3. Not be less than 18 years and not more than 26 years by 06 January 2023.
  4. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standards.
  5. Not be bonded. Not be married (for Regular Officer Candidates only).
  6. Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6″) for males and 1.60m (5’4″) for females.
  7. For Military Police (MP) only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (59) and 1.70m (57) for females.

Academic Requirements

Must have the following:

  • BECE: Six (6) Credit at BECE, including English and Mathematics
  • WASSCE: Six (6) Credits (not less than 06), including Core Mathematics English and Core Mathematics.

OR

  • SSSCE:Six (6) Credits (Not less than D), including Core English and Core Mathematics.

Air Branch

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following:

General Entry Requirements

  • Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
  • Be of good character.

  • Must pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test.
  • Be of minimum height of 1,68m (5’6*) for males and 1.60m (5’4*) for females,
  • Must have the following: BECE ……. Six (6) credits at BECE including English and
  • WASSCE ……. six (6) Credits (not less than C6) including Core English, Core
  • Mathematics and Science OR SSSCE ………Six (6) Credits (not less than D) including Core English,
  • Core Man, and Science. GCE ‘O’ & A Levels …. Five (5) Credits (not less than 60 including) English and Mathematics, GCE ‘O ‘ Level and not less than D in three subjects
  1. Engineering Corps: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 10 February 2023 and must have the following: Engineering with Masters in Sewage Engineering. Mechanical Engineering with Masters in Building Service. Masters in Structural Engineering. MSc/MBA in Project Management with a First Degree in any Building Environment Discipline. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years working experience in the relevant field of application and must be a registered member of GHIE or requisite Professional Body, in good standing and with a practicing License and Certificate from the regulating Professional Body.
  2. Catering School: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 10 February 2023 and must have the following: MPhil in Hospitality Management. Masters in Hospitality /Management/Catering Management. With 3 years Post qualification working experience in teaching and practice.
  3. Ordinance Corps: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 10 February 2023 and must have the following: An Advanced Qualification in Ammunitions Technology/Explosive Ordinance Disposal MSc/MPhil in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering/Physics.
  4. Legal: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 10  February 2023. Must have a First Degree from a recognized University or equivalent Professional Institution in any of the following: Bachelor of Law (LLB). Professional Law Course (PLC) e.g. Barrister at Law (BL)/Post Call Law Course certificate and must have completed Pupillage.
  5. Air Force Only: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a Mad, Degree from a recognized University in any of the following: Engineering Branch.

(1) Aerospace Engineering.

(2) Aeronautical Engineering.

(3) Mechanical Engineering.

Administration / Pay Corps.

Medical

  1. Not more than 40 years of age for Medical and Dental Specialists.
  2. Applicant must not be more than 35 years of age for Medical Officers, Dental Surgeons and Clinical psychologists.
  3. Not more than 33 years of age for Specialized Nurses, Midwifery Officers, Pharmacist, (Pharm D), Audiologists, Certified Registered Anesthetists and Health Service Administrators (Master’s degree).
  1. Not more than 30 years of age for Biomedical Scientists, Occupational Therapists, Sonographers, Respiratory Therapists Pharmacist, (Pharm D) and Health Services Administrators (First degree)

Specific Qualifications for Medical

Applicants must possess the following specific entry qualification requirements.

Medical and Dental Specialist

applicant, must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution plus a relevant post-graduate qualification to the level Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent from an accredited College. Applicant must have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and be in good standing.

Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons

Applicant must have an/a MB ChB/BDS degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution/University. Applicant must also have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and in good standing Applicant with at least one (1) year post-permanent registration work experience would have added advantage.

Pharmacists

Applicant must have either a: (1) Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from an accredited institution and should have practiced for at least two (2) years post-permanent registration as a pharmacist. (2) Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution and should have practiced for at least one (2) year post-permanent registration as a pharmacist All must be in good standing with the Pharmacy Council, Ghana

Specialized/Specialist Nurses

Applicant must have a BSc degree/Membership in any f the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-Operative, Emergency Care, Practice Burns, Pediatrics, Ophthalmic Nursing, Nephrology Nursing and other specialist with at least one (1 year working experience post permanent registration in a recognized health facility Applicant must be in good staring with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.

Midwifery Officers

Applicant must have either a BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution wit at least two (2) years practice post-permanent registration or BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution and a Diploma in Midwifery (RM) with at least one (1) year practice post permanent registration All must be in good standing with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.

Health Services Administrators

Applicant must have a BSc/Master’s degree in Administration (Health Services option) from an accredited institution and must have completed the mandatory national service. Applicant should also have at a least one (1) year work experience post-national service as a Health Services Administrator.

Clinical Psychologists

Applicant must have an MPhil/MSc Clinical Psychology degree from an accredited institution plus on (1) year work experience in recognized institutions as a Clinical Psychologists post permanent registration with the Ghana Psychological Council.

Radiographers

Applicant must, have a BSc degree in Radiography and should; have practiced for at least one (I) year post-permanent registration as a Radiographer. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Occupational Therapists

Applicants must have a BSc degree in Occupational Therapy and should have practiced for least one (1) year post-permanent registration as an Occupational Therapist. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Sonographers

Applicant must have a BSc degree in Sonography plus at least one (1) year work experience post permanent registration as a Sonographer. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Respiratory Therapists

Applicant must have a BS degree in Respiratory Therapy plus at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registration in a recognized health facility. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Biomedical Scientists

Applicant must have a BS degree in Medical Laboratory Science/BSc Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution plus at least one (1) year work experience as a Biomedical Scientist in a Medical Laboratory facility. Applicant must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Certified Registered Anesthetists (CRA)

Applicant must have either a; BSc degree in Anesthesia from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years’ work experience post-permanent registration or BSc degree in Anesthesia with Advanced Diploma in Nurse Anesthesia with at least one (1) year work experience post permanent registration. All must be in good standing with the appropriate Regulatory body.

Public Health Officer (Environmental)

Applicant must have either a: BSc Public Health (Environmental Health) from an accredited Institution/University.

Public Health Officer (Environmental)

Applicant must have either a: BSc Public Health (Environmental Health) from an accredited institution with at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registration or BSc Public

Health (Environmental Health) plus the West African Health Examination Board Diploma with at least two (2) years’ work experience post-permanent registration. All must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Public Health Officer (Disease Control)

Applicant must have either a: BSc Public Health (Disease Control) from an accredited institution with at least 1 one (1) year work experience post-permanent registration or BSc Public Health

(Disease Control) plus Diploma in Disease Control and Surveil- lance with at least two (2) years’ work experience post-permanent registration. All must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Chaplain

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than: 35 years of age by 10 February 2023 and have the following:

  • First Degree not below Second-Class Lower (BA) in Theology or Religion from a recognized University/Theological Seminary/College.
  • An ordained Minister of the Methodist, Presbyterian, Evangelical Presbyterian, SDA and the Church of Pentecost and be recommended for commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of the Church.
  • A minimum of four (4) years pastoral working and probation/internship experience including two (2) years post ordination service in the pastoral field.
  • Ability to speak English and at least one of the main Ghanaian languages fluently.

Imam

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years of age by 10 February 2023 and have the following:

  • First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Islamic Theology (Religion) from a recognized University, Islamic Institution or College.
  • An Alim/ Phedeen (Islamic Theologian)
  • Fluent in both spoken Arabic and English Languages
  • Ability to read and write good Arabic and English Languages
  • Practiced as Imam for four (4) years and be recognized by a recognized Islamic
  • Religious Institution/Body in Ghana.
  • Recommended for commission into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of a
  • Recognized Islamic body in Ghana.

Kindly follow the following steps to successfully apply for the Ghana Armed Forces 2022 Recruitment:

  1. Log on to the Ghana Armed recruitment portal at https://apply.mil.gh with any of the following browsers: Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
  2. Read through and understand the 2022/2023 Ghana Armed Forces Official recruitment entry requirements thoroughly.
  3. Click on the Apply Now. Tab to open the applicant authentication page
  4. Enter your card Serial Number, PIN code and select your preferred Arm of Service, type of commission and click “Submit”.
  5. Enter your personal details and take note of the following from pages 1 to 3:
  • Page 1: Select your desired vacancy and provide all other required data.
  • Page 2: Upload a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph of dimension
    (200 x180 pixels), enter a valid e-mail address, personal mobile phone number in the
    format (233244123456) and enter any other required data.
  • Page 3:Enter the results of only the three required core subjects on your WASSCE, SSCE results slip, that is; CORE MATHEMATICS, CORE ENGLISH AND SCIENCE. Enter your WASSCE or SSSCE Index number, WASSCE or SSSCE results slip Serial Number and select a Tertiary Institution from the list of schools. Enter your graduating GPA/CWA and provide all other required data. Upload only scanned copies of the following; WASSCE or SSSCE Results Slip and First Degree/Certificate (Degree). NB: Each scanned document (Passport picture, WASSCE or SSSCE Results Slip, First Degree, Certificate) to be uploaded, should not exceed 1 (One) Megabyte and should be in JPEG picture format only.

  2. Click on the submit button and expect an instant e-mail and text message, which includes your unique system generated Identification Number.
  3. Print and keep a copy of the generated report as you will be required to present it, if you are shortlisted. However, if you lose your copy of the final report, go back to the recruitment portal, click on the Check Details Tab, enter your unique identification number sent to you by SMS/E-mail and order a re-print.
