Ghana Education Service Extends Instruction Hours Across All Public Schools

All public schools should take note of the notice on the extension of of instructional hours signed by Municipal Director of Education,Mr Victor Degraft.

In the letter, it was stated that classes are to start at 8:00 hours GMT and close at 15:00 hours GMT effectively starting from today 23rd August 2021 until other wise directed. This new directive implies public schools will have lessons 7 hours in school.

This is to ensure more contact hours and lessons per day are offered. Also heads of schools are to continue to ensure the strict observance of the covid-19 protocols in their schools.

Furthermore, the Directorate will meet stakeholders in the schools that are operating the shift system at the basic level as a result of Covid-19 outbreak for further discussion on how to run the school.

The meeting is to help make things run smoothly without the spread of covid-19.
