She is the first child of highlife musician Nana Acheampong and his wife, Mrs. Maria Acheampong. Gyakie has three younger siblings; a brother and two sisters.

She had her primary and junior high school education at Mizpah Vine Ark School in Kumasi, and proceeded to T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior School, also in Kumasi for her Secondary school education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana.

Music Journey

Gyakie was born with her musical talent. She comes from a very musical family, and it was her mum Madam Maria who discovered her hidden talent. She used to make Gyakie sing for her friends when they came around the house, and this was during her days in primary school.

At age eight, Gyakie began joining her dad in the studio. Though she wanted to be an entrepreneur growing up, she ended up making music when she was at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and this was in 2019 when she met Nigerian music producer Sosa on Campus.

Gyakie released her first single ‘Love is Pretty’ in February 2019, and after some time, she released another single titled ‘Never Like This.’ She released a gospel song as well dubbed Nana Nyame before she released the SEED EP in August 2020. The SEED EP had five tracks, and her Forever track on this EP made her popular in Africa.

Forever by Gyakie got massive airplay in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. It also topped music charts in Ghana, Nigeria, and other countries. She did a Forever Remix featuring Nigerian singer Omah Lay, and this was officially premiered on March 25, 2021. However, the remix, likewise the original song, became a global hit.

Gyakie has since then released a good number of songs and has won some awards with her songs.

In 2021, the Flip the Music signee and her record label announced an International record deal with Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records UK, and Sony Music Africa.
