Mary Amega Mensah a.k.a. ‘Fresh the Barber’ is a Ghanaian female Barber who shares a similar life story with dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and her one wish was to meet her favourite music idol in real life.
The 30-year-old female barber was discovered by TV3 Ghana and in an interview granted to her by a reporter from the media house, saw her share her story of how she found herself in the male dominating business over a decade now and still breaking barriers.

According to Mary Mensah, she went to one barbering shop where she wanted to learn barbering but as a female in the midst of males, it was really difficult for her to be thought by her boss due to her gender and among other factors.
But with observations at the barbering shop, she sat her junior brother down one day and by the time she realized, she gave him a very nice haircut so she has to quit and start her business right away.
Speaking about some of the Challenges of being a female barber in this male dominated profession, Mary disclosed some people tag her as a lesbian due to her dressing and how she appears and people get scared she wouldn’t be able to do the work to their satisfaction which is false.
She spoke also about an accident which she had which made people think she wouldn’t be on her feet as she is now working and she affirmed that because of the accident she kind of shares a similar life story with Stonebwoy who also had an accident at a young age and through that lost his twin brother.
Mary Mensah from her demeanour during the interview really wanted to meet her idol Stonebwoy and this wish was granted today, November 4, 2021, by TV3 Ghana as Stonebwoy appeared on morning show ‘New Day’ to promote his new song titled ‘Greedy Men.’
She met her idol of the show, and it was a heartfelt Moment for the female Barber as she couldn’t control herself but tear up as she hugs the dancehall and reggae artiste Stonebwoy.
