Meet the Brothers of Sulley Muntari

Ghanaian footballer Sulley Muntari has two brothers who also play active football. They are Sulley Ali Sariki Muniru and Tamimu Muntari. Here is what you need to know about Sulley Muntari brothers.

About Sulley Ali Sariki Muniru

Sulley Muniru is the younger brother of the former AC Milan player Sulley Muntari, and he was born on October 25, 1992.

Muniru began his youth career with Ashanti Akim Missiles in his hometown Konongo. He helped his college team win a national championship and was the best player. In 2007, he joined the youth team of Liberty Professionals in Dansoman, where he was a kingpin. He also played on the senior side and represented Ghana at the Under 12 and Under 15 levels.

However, like his senior brother, he also wanted to pursue his football career in Europe. At age 18, he joined Real Madrid on trials, and the first professional contract he signed with was CFR Cluj in Romania during the 2013 transfer windows. Since then, he has played for teams like FC Steaua Bucharest, Tondela, Tambov, Asante Kotoko, and FC Minsk.

About Tamimu Muntari

Tamimu Muntari is also younger than Sulley Muntari. He was born on December 16, 1995, and plays as a midfielder.

Tamimu began his senior career at the Ghanaian professional club Tudu Mighty Jets in Accra. His style of play attracted foreign interest, and he went on trial with the Spanish big club Real Madrid. He also spent a season on loan at Wa All Stars, and in the 2013/2014 football season, he signed for Liberty Professionals.

For his national team career, he was selected for the U20 national team ahead of the friendly tournament South African Tournament 2012. Again, he got selected for the All African Games 2015 in Congo Brazzaville as part of the U23 squad.
