Meet The Youngest Ghanaian Female MP, Francisca Oteng-Mensah.
Francisca Oteng-Mensah is the member of parliament for Kwabre East Constituency under the New Patriotic Party. She was also the youngest female parliamentarian after the 2016 election in Ghana.
Francisca was born on February 14, 1993, at Aboaso Hospital in Mamponteng, Ashanti Region. Born to Mrs. Joyce Oteng (mother) and Dr Kwaku Oteng (father), the CEO of the Angel Group of Companies.
During her elementary and primary school years, Francisca attended three separate schools. She began her education at Mamponteng Roman Catholic School, then moved on to Breman’ s Revival Preparatory School, and finally to Supreme Saviour International, where she finished Primary Six. Angel Educational was where she finished her Junior High education.
It’ s complicated. She then continued her senior high education at St. Roses Senior High School.
Her insatiable desire for more academic accolades compelled her to enroll at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Law, where she studied law.
Francisca was a second- year law student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2016 when she ran for office.
She worked as a secretary at the Angel Group of Companies in Kumasi before becoming a member of parliament. She was appointed chairperson of the National Youth Authority in December 2017. Francisca is a devout Christian who attends the Assemblies of God Church.
Hon. Francisca Oteng-Mensah was 23 years of age when she was voted as a member of Parliament.
Getting into politics and becoming Member of Parliament at such age proves she is hardworking and intelligent.
