Ghanaian actor cum politician and farmer, John Dumelo has started his own food brand using his own raw farm crops, thus turning them to value added products.
The actor has joined the line of many successful entrepreneurs in Ghana who have ventured into food business from the media and entertainment industry. He has currently started processing his ginger into bottled product.

He revealed last night on McBrown’s United Showbiz on UTV after he also posted photos of it on social media. In the photos on social media, had him holding a bottled ginger with the inscription Melo Foods. This is the raw ginger from him farm that has been processed into a value added product.
It could be noticed that then commercial farming business has been very profitable John Dumelo. His ginger plantation has been a blessing and for such matter he thought it wise to add value to it to also reduce the stress of going through to take off the husk.
His initiative to turn his raw products into value added products is a good one which will provide employment and also let me consume more of made in Ghana products. And through this we can also export to other countries.
He also said by a week or 2, the product will be out there in the market and will make known the locations to get it from through social media.
