Public Holidays In Ghana 2021 (Statutory Public Holidays & Commemorative Days)

There are both statutory public holidays and commemorative days in the republic of Ghana.

Each of these public holiday is observed publicly every year and students right down to workers take these days off from schooling and working activities respectively to observe this day.

  • Statutory Public Holidays in Ghana

1st January – New Year’s Day.

7th January – Constitution Day.

6th March – Independence Day.

2nd April – Good Friday.

5th April – Easter Monday.

1st May – May Day

**** – Eid-ul-Fitr – 13th May

**** – Eid-ul- Adha – 19-20 July

4th August – Founder’s Day.

21st September – Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.

3rd December – Farmer’s Day.

25th December – Christmas Day.

26th December – Boxing Day.

Please note: the Eid celebrations dates can vary every year, so we represent them by asterisks.

25th May – African Union Day.

1st July – Republic Day.

 

Note: These two days are not observed as public holidays but they are observed every year in the calendar.
