Remembering the Late Ghanaian Dancehall Singer Ebony Reigns, 4 Years On

Today, 8th February, 2022 marks exactly four years since the demise of Ghanaian dancehall singer Ebony Reigns.

Priscilla Opoku-kwarteng, as she is referred to in real life but popularly known by the stage name Ebony Reigns, was born on 19th February, 1997 and died on 8th February, 2018 at Bechem Government Hospital.

The cause of Ebony’s death was through a vehicle accident which also took the lives of her best friend Franky Kuri and one other, a military officer named Atsu Vondee, whiles they were all returning to Accra after the singer’s visit to her mum in Sunyani.

Ebony’s demise shook the entire Ghanaian populace, especially industry players, and at her burial on 17th March, 2018, saw numerous people in attendance to pay their last respect to the music star.

Ebony was signed into RuffTown records music label in Ghana will forever be remembered by many Ghanaians for her unique voice, the talent filled musician she is music and how energetic she appears in her music videos.

Her songs were played all over on radio and television station and a number of her several released songs includes titles like “Maame Hw3”, “Kupe”, “Turn On the light”, “Aseda”, “Poison” and others.
