Kente is one of the best textiles out of Africa and is already making its mark at the World stage. The indigenous Ghanaian fabric is also formed from interwoven cloth strips of silk and cotton. The kente textile can trace its origin from the Ashanti Kingdom. The fabric is an indigenous textile for Ghana and almost every tribe wear these fabrics. This serves as country’s national fashion identity.

The Kente fabric has various patterns and color variation. The colors include black, blue, pink, red, silver, white yellow, maroon, green, purple and grey.
However, it has become a symbol for Africa. We also use this to showcase ethnic pride. Kente fabric are also often used as academic stoles to depict African origin. In popular culture the fabric has been worn by many celebrities including the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna etc.
