JUST IN: Legendary Highlife Musician, Nana Ampadu Has Passed Away

Today happens to be a sad day, a black Tuesday for Ghanaians and especially in the Ghanaian music industry. News reaching us indicates that Highlife legend, Nana Amapdu has passed away. He was one of the greatest musicians the country has ever produced.

The legendary Nana Ampadu was confirmed dead in the early hours of today following a short illness at age 76. Nana Ampadu was admitted at the Ridge Hospital in the past days. He was battling with an unspecified illness which unfortunately could not survive.

Nana Ampadu who hails from Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana produced highlife timeless records for the country including “Agatha” “Drivers” “Obra” and “Oman Bo Adwo”, tunes which are still been enjoyed by Ghanaians.

Last year, the late Nana Ampadu revealed that he has recorded a song with Ghana’s most decorated rapper Sarkodie but felt I’ll which caused the song to be delayed. Unfortunately, we might not be able to enjoy the song following the passing of the legend.
