Gregory Bortey Newman, known by the stage name King Promise, has hinted at a collaboration with American rapper, Chance The Rapper on a new song.
The Ghanaian singer shared the big news during an interview on ‘the day show’ with renowned television presenter Berla Mundi after she asked if he knew Chance The Rapper before his visit to Ghana.
King Promise replied to the question saying it was his first time meeting the American rapper and though he wasn’t in the capital city Accra when Chance arrived in the country he got a call for a meetup and quickly he made that happened after he returned.
He affirmed that he already knew Vic Mensa, who kept Chance the rapper in company during his stay in Ghana and he was the one who introduced him to the rapper and during that night they got to work on a new song at his studio.
The ‘Sisa’ Hitmaker King Promise added there are some more upcoming projects about to be done and said he never knew he would ever work with Chance The Rapper, but it was a good vibe all along when they both met.
“I wasn’t in Ghana when Chance The Rapper arrived, but I got a call for a linkup with him and I made that happened soon as I returned to the country.
Vic Mensa, who I already know, introduced me to him and that night worked on a new song in my studio.
I have been a big fan of Change the rapper’s music and I won’t lie. I didn’t know I will ever work with him.”
