Van Vicker is an award-winning Ghanaian-Liberian actor, movie producer, director, entrepreneur, businessman, Humanitarian, and a former radio/television presenter.
He is the CEO of Sky + Orange Productions, a movie production house in Ghana that has produced quite a number of movies, and the owner of a restaurant called ‘Vantastic Grill’ located at Spintex in Accra. He is also the founder of Van Vicker School of Performing Arts and owner of Sky Orange United, a football team in Ghana.

Biography
Van Vicker was born in Accra, Ghana, on August 1, 1977, to Madam Betty Toe, a Ghanaian/Liberian mother, and the late Eric Vicker, a Dutch Father. He lost his father when he was six years old, so he was brought up by his mum alone. He spent most of his early years in countries like Morovia and Netherland since his mum, Madam Toe, was a traveler.
Van’s parents gave birth to two children, a boy, and a girl. His sister’s name is Phylicia Anderson. However, there were rumors of him having a stepbrother named Frank Vicker, but he denied having a brother.
The actor completed his Senior High School Education at Mfantsipim school in Cape Coast, Ghana. He proceeded to African University College Communications (AUCC) in Accra, twenty-one (21) years after his Secondary school education, and finished in 2020. Van Vicker graduated in 2021 with first-class honors and won two awards, thus the Best student in Strategic Communication Award and Best Communication Student Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communication from AUCC.
Career
Television/radio Journey
After SHS, Van Vicker wanted to travel to the United States to further his education to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor (a gynecologist). Unfortunately, that couldn’t happen due to a lack of funds, so he decided to stay in Ghana and work.
Adjoa Van Vicker, the wife of Van Vicker, who was his girlfriend at that time, saw a job advertisement for a presenter at TV3 Ghana in the newspaper, and she told her boyfriend, Van Vicker about it. He went for an interview and got picked for the job, but he started as a production assistant at the entertainment department of TV3 Ghana before the main deal.
Van Vicker was hosting an entertainment program at TV3 Ghana alongside doing radio at Groove FM, now Adom FM. He left TV3 Ghana entirely after a few years whiles he was still at Groove FM.
He later joined Metro TV and then Vibe FM.
Movie
Van Vicker launched his acting career after starring in a campus series dubbed ‘Sun City.’ The first movie he featured in was a film produced by Bob Smith Jnr (Diabolo Man), and he appeared in only one scene.
In 2004, he landed a major role in a movie produced by Ghanaian filmmaker Abdul Salam Mumuni titled ‘Divine love,’ and this movie was the movie that brought him into the limelight. He featured in a number of films of Salam Mumuni before working with other movie producers in Ghana. He has played major and supporting roles in many movies alongside Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, John Dumelo, Majid Michel, and many more.
Apart from English-speaking movies produced in Ghana, Van Vicker has starred in many local movies (Kumawood movies) alongside Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Agya Koo, Vivian Jill Lawrence, Kwaku Manu, and many others.
Nollywood Movie Industry
Van Vicker became a part of the Nollywood movie industry in Nigeria in 2007. He has starred in numerous Nigerian movies with stars like Mercy Johnson, Tontoh Dikeh, Chika Ike, Stephanie Okereke, Jim Ike, and veteran actor Olu Jacobs.
International Success
Van has directed, featured in, and produced over six movies under his Sky + Orange Productions from 2008. 2012 was the biggest year for his production house, earning him the NAFCA Best Actor and Director Awards for his comedy movie, Joni Waka.

Personal life
Van Vicker is married to his long-time girlfriend, Adjoa Van Vicker, whose real name is Adjoa Dawson Amoah. The couple met on a bus during their secondary school days on May 2, 1994, and then became friends. They started dating after some time and married on October 16, 2003.
Van Vicker and his wife have three children, two girls, and a boy.

She had her senior high school education at Aggrey Memorial SHS in Cape Coast and proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she graduated in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences
In 2002, she enrolled at the Legon Center for International Affairs in Accra and graduated in 2003 with an M.A in International Affairs. In 2016, she obtained another Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London South Bank University in the United Kingdom.
But Before that, she had already bagged a professional certificate in Human Resources from the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana (IHRMP). She is currently the Director of Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) at the Ghana Education Service (GES).
